If you are looking for Sid Meier's Pirates, you have come to the right place. We explain what Sid Meier's Pirates is and point you to the official download.

What is Sid Meier's Pirates?

Sid Meier's Pirates! is a strategy/adventure game from Firaxis Games. The game is based on the original Pirates! game created by Sid Meier. This new version utilizes the 3D Gamebryo engine, developed by Gamebase Co. Ltd. and Gamebase USA.

The game is set against a backdrop of the Caribbean, with sounds of waves crashing against the ship. 3D graphics enhance the illusion of living a pirate’s life. The player takes on the role of the Captain of the ship, where he must battle against other pirates in order to get hold of the loot. The goal of the game is to win over all other pirates, until the player is the last man standing. The more the player defeats other pirates, the more skills he acquires, and the more crew joins his ship.

There are 27 ships in all that the player has to conquer, with each ship having its own weaponry and strengths. The player battles captains and other pirates, both at sea and on land. The game is available for Windows PCs, PSP, Wii, Xbox and iPad.
