What is SharedView?

Microsoft Shareview is a remote desktop software that was developed by Microsoft Corporation as part of its network collaboration software suite. Shareview was formally known as "Tahiti" which is similar to Microsoft Link and Office Communicator. After releasing the Microsoft Shareview, the Shareview team soon went to other teams of Microsoft, which led to the development of similar programs.

Microsoft Shareview was developed by Microsoft to enable users to interact with other group of users in different locations. The software requires an Internet connection for the users to communicate. Microsoft Shareview enables the users to share documents, control other computers, hold group chat, do Internet collaboration and sharing of files over the Web. The user can also alter the document format of the other user if permitted from the firewall. Shareview supports control in Microsoft Office documents such as MS Word. A session is hosted through Windows Live ID. Each host can invite up to a maximum of 15 users. They can view multiple screens representing different computer users. Microsoft Shareview runs on Windows XP (SP1) and Windows Server. It also runs in the Windows Vista operating system.
