Renoise

If you are looking for Renoise, you have come to the right place. We explain what Renoise is and point you to the official download.

What is Renoise?

Renoise is a tracker-based DAW or digital authoring program. Tracker-based music production is pattern-dependent. Users basically make changes to certain steps in the pattern and combine several patterns in a specific arrangement in order to create a song. The program promotes fast and visually-oriented music authoring due to this, especially with a special pattern matrix giving the user the means to visualize and rearrange musical patterns within a song as represented by colored and labeled blocks on a grid.

There are more than 26 sound effects already packed into Renoise from a flange effect to a phase effect—other staples such as reverb and delay are available too. Users who want other options can easily add plugins such as VSTs, DSSIs and AUs. It comes with its own mixer and has a tool for automating the control of various song characteristics. Users can render sections of their production for quick sample generation and also has hotkeys for just about every command (these are customizable). It supports MIDI hardware as well. Furthermore, it can be scripted and is compatible with Linux, Mac and Windows operating systems.
