What is Quo?
Mapyx’s Quo software is a UK mapping utility targeted at outdoor activity-goers like hikers and birdwatchers. The program itself is free and comes with a basic map of the UK already included: for more detailed maps, users will have to download map files themselves at variable costs. They can also connect the program to GPS devices for quick map updates.
Quo lets users select and seek out trails for their purposes in various ways, including by searching for route suggestions from professionals and famous figures in their hobbies or activities: for example, a birdwatcher looking for a new birdwatching trail might use the software to get advice from top birdwatchers in the country by subscribing to them. Users can also mark their own custom routes on maps and save those, with various multimedia opportunities for enriching their cartographic records. They can add photos, notes and even videos to maps for the personalization of their travel routes.
Other features of Quo include the ability to print out maps as foldables and the ability to view map relief information in full 3D visuals, which may be useful for those who want a quick 3D survey of where they may be headed.
