Protean
If you are looking for Protean, you have come to the right place. We explain what Protean is and point you to the official download.
What is Protean?
Protean 3D is Lasergene’s solution for the exploration of macromolecular constructs. Users can also see and study protein structure predictions via NovaFold through the program, which also supports multi-structural views within documents. The program can also access the Yale Morph Server’s conformational changes—it comes with access to more than 300 of these. Evaluation can be fine-tuned according to the user’s preferences since there are multiple options for the predictive technique used. The sequence viewing mode also provides the annotations for files being viewed. A details pane gives access to even more data.
The program supports use of the SUMOylation protein stability prediction technique. It also lets users import files straight from the Protein Data Bank, with multi-model file downloading supported. Sequence-only file importing is allowed, as are image and animated file format exports for structures. Animated file formats include GIF, QuickTime movies, and AVI. GIF can also be used for static snapshots of structures, as can the PNG and JPG file formats. Users can easily operate the program due to its intuitive, simple controls; it also has a flexible user interface that lets users edit panel placement as desired.
