What is Picaboo Desktop?
Picaboo Desktop is a DIY desktop application for Windows that integrate into the Picaboo service. This gives customers and clients to create photo books, calendars, postcards, posters, and other merchandise that uses photos. Similar to, and competing with the online service Shutterfly, Picaboo turns digital photos into artistic pieces with various designs, although the desktop client of Picaboo puts the control into the hands of the user, which may or may not be submitted to Picaboo to be printed. Without Picaboo Desktop, most design decisions lie with the company’s graphic designers.
Picaboo Desktop is very simple and has a clean interface, which is its main draw for new users. The feature sets are organized and visible in the main interface window, divided into three sections: the left side containing thumbnails of the photos the user has worked on, the right section of creative tools, and the middle one as the workspace. Picaboo contains a number of themes and templates in its media library that users can experiment on, and the desktop client allows for other editing functions such as adding captions and text, photo order, and more.
