If you are looking for Philips Songbird, you have come to the right place. We explain what Philips Songbird is and point you to the official download.
What is Philips Songbird?
The Philips Songbird software is a music management program that also serves as a manager for Philips MP3 players. Using the program, a user could put together an audio library of the music on his computer: it can import audio files from CDs, for instance, as well as trawl the Web for music. Files’ metadata can be modified through the software and users can also make music playlists with it.
As a manager for the Philips MP3 players, the program lets users who have connected their players to their PCs synchronize their devices properly with their computers: it also synchronizes their players with the Songbird media library.
Songbird is also the updating utility for Philips MP3 players. With it, users can receive firmware updates for the players over their Web connection and on their PCs, then use the Songbird-player connection to manage the update. The Songbird software also lets users perform player troubleshooting and repairs that can potentially fix “frozen” players without leading to data loss; this is arguably the most important function of the program. Finally, Songbird can be used to register Philips MP3 players.
