What is Personal Historian?
Personal Historian is a distinctive software that enables users to write a life story of their own, a family member and of other individuals. Though writing a life story is a tedious and a huge task, this program can break this great task into small, manageable pieces and then reconstructs it into a complete, publishable document. It offers an extensive library of Life Capsules- timelines, cultural fads, historical events, and memory triggers covering a myriad of subjects and topics.
Personal Historian lets users write stories in paragraph styles with multiple fonts. One can also import word processor documents, photos, another data as well as events, dates, and notes from genealogy software to enhance the story. It also features a spell checker, Thesaurus, text to speech and a speech to text mechanisms to facilitate ease in writing. Furthermore, it provides an organizer that allows users to streamline ideas into coherent groups and logical orders so as to create an outline for each story. It is also possible to customize headers, footers, margins, and fonts as well as add footnotes. The program also features a readability checker to assist a user on how readable and interesting his writing will be to others. It informs users if sentences are too long, too short— if words are too simple or too complex, and even if one is writing in the passive voice instead of the active voice.
