What is National Instruments Motion Assistant?
National Instruments Motion Assistant is a prototyping tool for promoting motion applications. It lets users graphically design and examine motion applications without writing any code. Users can develop LabVIEW or C code for further application improvement using NI-Motion when they have accomplished a prototype in Motion Assistant. Users also can generate code recipes for coding the application in a text-based language, such as Microsoft Visual Basic, C, or C++. NI Motion Assistant promotes several move types that shows the moves most often used in motion control such as the reference moves, straight line moves, arc moves, contouring moves and CAD moves.
Reference moves contains moves to find index, center, reverse limit, home and forward limit. The straight line moves perform simple point-to-point movement for basic motion application. The arc moves, on the other hand, create two -dimensional, helical and three-dimensional arc types. The contouring moves let any trajectory specified by a series of points while the CAD moves enable a move profile based on an imported CAD file. By creating a series of moves, NI Motion Assistant gives a complete graphical interface that allows users to prototype a motion application. Users can utilize the NI Motion Assistant code creation feature to export LabVIEW or C code when they have finished creating a prototype of their motion control application.
