ModelSim SE
If you are looking for ModelSim SE, you have come to the right place. We explain what ModelSim SE is and point you to the official download.
What is ModelSim SE?
ModelSim SE is the cross-platform edition of the ModelSim HDL (hardware description language) simulation software. The software is categorized as the large block/system simulation version of the software suite, whereas the two others that also belong to the simulation suite (ModelSim PE and ModelSim DE) are block/simulation system programs. The HDL environment enables the user, generally engineers, to test and debug an HDL model; which are essential steps to ensure that the design of the HDL model will pass verification. It is generally utilized for Field-Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) circuit design and Application-Specific Integrated Circuit (ASIC) design.
The software’s general components include an HDL editor, a project management system, source code templates, compiled database and native-compiled architecture, and incremental compilation. ModelSim SE supports the VHSIC Hardware Description Language (VHDL) and Verilog.
For the debugging process, the design team is allowed to perform post-simulation debugging; and is provided with tools for source annotation, hyperlinked navigation, C debugging, assertion thread debugging and advanced FSM debugging.
ModelSim SE is compatible with 32-bit and 64-bit platforms.
