MKV player

If you are looking for MKV player, you have come to the right place. We explain what MKV player is and point you to the official download.

What is MKV player?

MKV player is software developed by Vsevensoft that installs a media player on a Windows-enabled computer. The program was specifically designed to play video files rendered in the MKV format. MKV is a file extension from the Matroska Multimedia Container, which also renders media files in the following formats: MK3D (stereoscopic video), MKA (audio file), and MKS (subtitles). For the MKV format, the file contains a video, subtitles and audio. In other words, an MKV file is a video file integrated with subtitles.

MKV player provides a single-window interface, where buttons for controlling video play are displayed. Control buttons are simple, rectangular buttons with words written on them to let the user know what the button is for. So instead of the usual symbol-based control buttons, this player’s buttons have the words Open, Play, and Stop written on them; each word, for each button.

Other options displayed on the player have words written on them as well: Change Ratio, Screenshot, and Home Page are located alongside the video play buttons. Frame Step and Keyboard Help are located directly below the previously-mentioned buttons.
