Microsoft Virtual PC
If you are looking for Microsoft Virtual PC, you have come to the right place. We explain what Microsoft Virtual PC is and point you to the official download.
What is Microsoft Virtual PC?
Microsoft Virtual PC is software developed for Windows users. This is free software that enables Windows users to run and install legacy programs or applications on a virtual computer while still on their current PC that runs on a newer version of Windows.
For instance, users that have Windows 7 installed on their PCs can still run Windows XP-based programs and applications directly on their computer, through the virtual PC. Microsoft Virtual PC software emulates the Windows XP environment on the Windows 7 computer, enabling the user to run old applications and use these according to their exact specifications.
Users can install XP-enabled applications by launching the Windows XP Mode from the Start menu, and then install accordingly. Installed applications can then be run, also by accessing these from the Windows 7 Start menu.
The latest version of Microsoft Virtual PC, the Windows Virtual PC, is only compatible with Windows 7 and higher; and it does not support OS versions that are older than Windows XP Professional Service Pack 3 as guest OS.
