Microsoft Baseline Security Analyzer
If you are looking for Microsoft Baseline Security Analyzer, you have come to the right place. We explain what Microsoft Baseline Security Analyzer is and point you to the official download.
What is Microsoft Baseline Security Analyzer?
Microsoft Baseline Security Analyzer, generally shortened to MBSA, is a free program from Microsoft intended for IT personnel/professionals. The program runs a specific function: check the system’s security and install updates, when necessary.
The software provides a graphical user interface (GUI) for launching its functions, as well as a command line interface. When the program is launched, it scans the system for security updates that have not been installed, which may render the system vulnerable to attacks.
Apart from scanning the system’s security applications, the program also scans the computer for other Windows components, specifically, Internet Explorer, Internet Information Services Web Server, and SQL server.
After the computer has been scanned, it provides the user with a detailed report on its findings. If system security is updated, no recommendations will be provided; but, if security updates are missing, the user will be prompted on which updates are critical, and need to be installed immediately.
The user is given the option to print the generated report, or to copy it to clipboard so it can be used as reference.
