Microsoft AutoRoute Express is a program that Microsoft used to offer as a trip planning and navigation solution. There were several versions of it with differing foci: there was a version for US users, for example, that concentrated its data on US routes and locations; there was a version for European users as well, with according route data.
Roads were marked on the map, as well as rails and other types of transport routes. Locations of interest were also indicated on the map in zoomed mode. For example, restaurants were clearly marked on the map, along with their phone numbers. Other establishments necessary to the traveler could be found on the program.
The software also produced directions based on location search: it could even aid travelers in plotting their routes by running calculations of the estimated time of travel from the user’s point of origin to the stated destination. It was also capable of generating price estimates for the trip. Furthermore, it could generate precise coordinates for searched-for locations based on GPS data. However, the program is no longer available as Microsoft has already discontinued it.
File.org aims to be the go-to resource for file type- and related software information. We spend countless hours researching various file formats and software that can open, convert, create or otherwise work with those files.
If you have additional information about which types of files Microsoft AutoRoute Express can process, please do get in touch - we would love hearing from you.
