What is MapEditor?

MapEditor is an application especially designed by the software company called Nival (formerly known as Nival Interactive) and is used mainly for the Role-Playing Game or RPGs developed by the same company. The developer was founded by the Sergey Orlovski who is currently the president/CEO and is considered as among the veterans in games development in Russia.

MapEditor is a tool that is used in creating scenarios or environment for RPG’s particularly for castle designing and building. It was initially utilized in the video game Rage of Mages or Allods. Developers of the games used the tool to produce a real-life setting for the games which is among the contributors of the success and worldwide acceptance. This map editing software was also initially used when the o company started to publish video games under its name back in 2005. The software was also made compatible with games add-ons that are published and developed by another company called Ubisoft.

MapEditor is also continuously and currently being used in the on-going developments of Nival projects which include King's Bounty: Legion, Prime World: Defenders, Prime World, and Berserk: Catalys.
