What is Livescribe Desktop?
Livescribe Desktop is software that allows users to save on the computer, notes written on paper through the Livescribe smartpen, in particular, the Echo and Pulse smartpen models. Anything that the user records on these smartpen models can be transferred to the computer by connecting the smartpen to the unit through USB cable.
Notes, drawings, doodles and audio can be captured by the Livescribe Desktop software to enable the user to save a copy of these files on their machine. The user may also search for contents stored on their smartpen via the search tool provided with the software. When a user inputs a specific keyword or term, the software will scan all contents of the smartpen, and then display relevant results on the user interface.
The user is also to playback the recorded audio on their computer, manage their smartpen applications, organize notes, and share or send smartpen contents as a pencast file or an audio file. Livescribe Desktop also enables the user to connect to their Livescribe account, which can be utilized for sharing of files among other things.
The software is compatible with Windows XP Service Pack 3, Windows Vista and Windows 7. For Windows Vista, the program can run on the 32-bit or 64-bit platform.
