LANtools

If you are looking for LANtools, you have come to the right place. We explain what LANtools is and point you to the official download.

What is LANtools?

LANTools is a program for those who need to act as remote administrators for LAN networks. The package actually consists of two distinct utilities from LANCOM: LANConfig and LANMonitor. Both are compatible with all LANCOM Systems LAN products, such as routers and access points. As the name of each tool suggests, they provide a user with the controls needed to both configure and look over the operations of a particular network, ensuring that it functions as desired. Hence, for instance, the user can perform diagnostic tests and evaluations of the network, identify problems within it, shut it down or restart it, lock sessions, check connected devices and applications, and moreā€”all from a distance, due to the remote control the software grants the user.

A particularity of the LANTools series is that only Versions 6.0x and older were able to run on Windows 9x and NT 4.0. After Version 6.0x, all the released LANTools would only run properly if they were installed on later versions of the Windows operating system, e.g. Windows 98 SE, 2000, and so on, until Vista. The software was also only for Windows systems.
