What is KeePass Password Safe?
KeePass Password Safe, usually shortened to KeePass, is an open-source software program developed by Dominik Reichl. The purpose of the software is to manage the user’s passwords, keeping them safe and secure, while also providing the user with a database that they can access whenever they need to retrieve a specific password.
In other words, the software is a password management tool that enables the user to keep track of all their passwords; whether these are for email accounts, social networking accounts, online memberships, online banking, FTP passwords, and even document passwords.
The user will store all their passwords into a single database and then keep these locked and secured through a master password, also referred to as master key. The user then will only need to remember one password to unlock the database and retrieve the passwords.
The user can assign icons for each password to help them identify what the password is for, and also for a more organized database. Also, you can put additional information about the website, account or other file that each password is for. This way, you will know exactly what the password opens.
