Junior Icon Editor allows users to create and edit icons using up to 16 million colours and is compatible with Windows 2000, XP, Vista, and Windows 7. Editing icons in .png format for Linux, Android, iOS, and WP7 is also possible with the software as well as creating icons in 32-bit colour depth with 8-bit alpha channel. Users can also paint images using a variety of brushes, pens, airbrushes, and use shapes such as ellipse, rectangle, as well as line and curve tools. Images in .ico, .png, .xpm, are allowed to be imported and exported using this software.

The program also allows an image to be copied and pasted into another program and also copy-paste the colour value into a clipboard.
