If you are looking for Hummingbird FTP, you have come to the right place. We explain what Hummingbird FTP is and point you to the official download.
What is Hummingbird FTP?
The Hummingbird FTP software is an FTP client that is part of the Hummingbird Connectivity Suite 2006 (which includes other software such as Hummingbird Neighborhood, HostExplorer VT, Exceed X Server, and other networking tools). Using the Hummingbird FTP, a user can transfer text and image files to a remote FTP server using the Windows Explorer functionality, as the suite itself integrates into the Windows shell allowing users to perform the program’s functions without having to launch a separate program. This is because all features of the Hummingbird Connectivity Suite are integrated into the core Windows Explorer experience. This includes features like cut and paste, drag and drop, and so on, along with their associated shortcut keys.
Hummingbird FTP gives users the option to script the transfer using OLE automation, for example to view the files to be uploaded and transfer it to multiple FTP locations. This way, called Hummingbird FTP Live Editing, a file or a set of files can be edited (using an associated application, of course) as they are saved to the remote server. It also has a resume upload feature in case the upload operation has been interrupted.
