Hamachi

If you are looking for Hamachi, you have come to the right place. We explain what Hamachi is and point you to the official download.

What is Hamachi?

Hamachi or LogMeIn Hamachi is a program that provides the user with a Virtual Private Network system. What this means is that the user can utilize the program to make a connection between two computers via Internet technology, making a connection that is similar to a Local Area Network (LAN) connection.

The software provides the user with a private peer-to-peer (P2P) connection on-demand, which can then be utilized for communicating to other users on a secure platform. The connection is encrypted through the 256-bit SSL encryption algorithm. The connection can be used for printing over a network, file sharing, and accessing resources from a central computer. The host computer is the one installed with the software, which then can be configured to add end-users to the network. The user can create a mesh network, under Add Network, Network Type, and Mesh.

Additionally, the network administrator has privileges of remotely accessing all computers connected to the network, and setting parameters for each end-user with regards to privileges of accessing the network, i.e. full, partial or restricted.

Hamachi can be used on Windows and Mac OS X computers.
