What is Fast Duplicate File Finder?
Fast Duplicate File Finder is a freeware tool for Windows. It was developed by MindGems Inc. Its intention is to scan a user’s computer for duplicate files, display a list of such files, and let the user get rid of unneeded copies with the purpose of freeing up hard disk space. It is compatible with all Microsoft Windows versions which include the latest Windows 8, Windows 7, and all Windows Server operating systems, as well as their corresponding 32-bit and 64-bit versions.
The Fast Duplicate File Finder will look for duplicate files in a folder, computer, or an entire network. The application will then compare the files’ content, and also find duplicates even if they are using different file names. The professional version can find similar file regardless of file types. It will analyze the file’s data in order to find similar files and not just file attributes such as name and file size as standard file duplicate removers usually do. It also uses algorithms while looking for similar files and provides accurate results.
