What is eXe - eLearning XHTML editor?

The eXe Project developed a freely-available Open Source authoring application that assists teachers and academics in the publishing of web content, without the need to become proficient in HTML or XML markup. Resources authored in eXe can also be exported in the IMS Content Package, SCORM 1.2, or the IMS Common Cartridge formats or as simple self-contained web pages. With eXe, users can develop learning structures that suit their content delivery needs, and build resources that are flexible and easily updated.

eXe is divided into two functional areas. The outline pane is used for developing the structure of the user’s content. The iDevice pane contains a standard set of iDevices. Also, eXe is an open source software project. This means that not only is it free to download and use, but the source code is also freely-available to allow customization to suit the user or his organization’s needs. Its development team has also welcomed input from interested parties that come from any organization. eXe is available in many languages, including Dutch, Chinese, English, German, Greek, Polish, and Swedish.
