What is DeviceInstaller?
The DeviceInstaller utility from Lantronix is a key software and device management tool that the company provides free of charge to its customers. Simply put, the program enables networks and other devices to detect Lantronix devices being installed by the user, so it is a program that facilitates installation and setup of the company’s products.
DeviceInstaller’s function as an installation management utility means that it can be used to help consumers find, download and install the correct firmware necessary for their Lantronix products. It can ping devices over the connection and supports the establishment and use of Telnet connections to the devices it is installing or configuring. Users can also make use of the software’s network management abilities to assign IP addresses on their networks. Furthermore, the utility allows users to configure their device servers. This is because Lantronix has migrated all its configuration tools for its Device Server Technology NetCards into the DeviceInstaller program. Besides that, the software now also encompasses the company’s originally separate configuration applications from its Automation Protocol Suite.
The program has a graphical user interface and is available only for computers using the Windows operating system.
