Crysis Wars was a multiplayer version of Crysis that shipped with the Crysis Warhead game. Warhead itself was a single-player game and was considered distinct from the Wars by Crytek (the game’s developer); even so, the two games were bundled together.
Crysis Wars used the original Crysis multiplayer gameplay as a template and was generally deemed to have improved on it. Among the differences from the original game’s multiplayer mode was the inclusion of more maps for player battles, for instance. Furthermore, Crysis Warhead modified most of the weapons from the original game by scaling up their damage rates. As a result, most weapons became deadlier because they could kill other players faster.
Another change from the original game was the inclusion of a third multiplayer game mode. The original Crysis had only 2: Instant Action and Power Struggle. Instant Action was a free-for-all type of contest, while Power Struggle provided teams with specific objectives (e.g. destroy the enemy base). Crysis Warhead added Team Instant Action to these: the basic concept behind Instant Action was comparable to deathmatch play.
Like the original game, Crysis Warhead had protections against cheats.
