The Corel Digital Studio is a multimedia digital suite that contains several components in one package: PaintShop Photo Express, VideoStudio Express, DVD Factory, and WinDVD, all of which work together and with each other to provide the user with a seamless, consistent interface. This is in contrast to a piecemeal purchase of each application whose interfaces may differ from one another, causing confusion. Alongside this, the 2010 version of Corel Digital Studio supports touch screen technology for Windows 7, and features extended functionalities that control the behavior of multimedia projects across all applications in the suite that would not be present in stand-alone software.
PaintShop Photo Express is a photo-editing application with robust organization and editing features; VideoStudio Express is like the latter, but for videos; DVD Factory is for DVD burning and conversion software, and lastly WinDVD is a bundled media player that plays DVD and selected video formats. Extended features include the ability to upload or share multimedia projects to YouTube, Facebook, and Flickr. It is criticized, however for its weight (the installer alone is upwards of 800 MB) and a steep learning curve.
