CardScan

If you are looking for CardScan, you have come to the right place. We explain what CardScan is and point you to the official download.

What is CardScan?

CardScan is a device that the user connects to the computer via a USB cable to scan business cards, and then have the details from the business card saved directly into the program’s user interface. The software is designed for optical character recognition (OCR) for business cards, which means that it can interpret texts from the business cards and put the details in appropriate fields. OCR however, is only enabled with business cards.

For credit cards, driver’s license and other cards inserted into the scanner, it is still able to scan the cards and save these as image files. Information on these types of cards is still saved on the computer, accessed as an image file.

It can integrate with Microsoft Outlook Contacts and Google Contacts, making it easier for the user to store contact details into the databases, without having to manually input the information into their respective fields.

Users can also drag and drop email signatures onto their CardScan database, providing the user with a central database for all their contacts. There is a version of CardScan that is compatible with Mac and Windows operating systems.
