What is Bepop?

Bepop, also known as BibTex Publisher, is a web-based BibTeX front-end. It builds a Web interface inside a list of publications that are kept inside a BibTeX file. It also permits browsing according to year, author, document type, keyword and topic by using Javascript, PHP, and XML technologies. It is also used by individuals and institutes for building institutional repositories and self-archiving. This program is good for single-source publishing of bibliography info. This is because it uses a single BibTeX file as its database. Because of that, there’s no need for a database server such as MySQL. BibTeX’s entries for publications are annotated with more info through the use of keywords, research area, filelink, abstract, presentation, and poster keys.

The research area key also allows categorization while keywords permits the tagging of bibliographical entries. Also generated is a keyword cloud. The AJAX-based interface allows showing abstracts, BibTeX entries, and links to DOI, slides, complete text, and poster files. Permanent links and RSS files are available according to keyword, document type, year, and research area. Users can also include new publication through an online form. This is done by either BibTeX code, or by completing certain fields.
