The Automap Server GUI is the display of Novation’s Automap software. Automap (or Automap Server) is a utility for users attempting to associate various software parameters with hardware—to be more precise, to assign control over a specified software parameter to a particular MIDI controller.
To be sure, this is possible even without the Automap Server application. A user would merely need to discover the control change numbers or CC numbers affect the parameters he wants to control. Once these numbers are in hand, the user shall only have to set his controlling device to send out those particular numbers on the appropriate channel. It sounds like a simple task, but the problem is that it can take a great deal of effort just to do it, especially when the number of parameters and control change numbers begins to expand. Automap solves this issue by dispensing with this painstaking method and automating most of the control change assignment process for convenience.
The GUI is obviously the graphical interface through which Automap makes this possible. It cannot be separated from the Automap Server and is a critical part of the application.
File.org aims to be the go-to resource for file type- and related software information. We spend countless hours researching various file formats and software that can open, convert, create or otherwise work with those files.
If you have additional information about which types of files AutomapServerGUI can process, please do get in touch - we would love hearing from you.
