Autodesk Pixlr

If you are looking for Autodesk Pixlr, you have come to the right place. We explain what Autodesk Pixlr is and point you to the official download.

What is Autodesk Pixlr?

Autodesk Pixlr is an online image editing application that was originally released for mobile devices but which has now been made available for desktop users as well. The desktop version actually adds some functions that are unavailable on the mobile version. For example, the desktop version of Pixlr allows users to better specify the area of editing by using influence masks—basically areas of a photo that can be influenced by a particular edit that is being applied.

Autodesk Pixlr also has a focal blurring tool that lets users specify the area of the photo that they want to show in full clarity and the areas they want the blur to start from. It has stylizing effects comparable to the filters found in photo editors such as Adobe Photoshop, allowing users to render photos into crosshatched versions, dappled versions, halftoned versions, and so on. There are also multiple blending options. Photos can be converted into posters or cards through text overlay tools that include professional-quality stylization options for entered text. Effects are also applicable in gradients instead of flat layers. The program is available as a Starter (free) application, an Essentials application (still free, but requires registration for more features), and a Pro application, which has a yearly fee.
