Autodesk MotionBuilder

If you are looking for Autodesk MotionBuilder, you have come to the right place. We explain what Autodesk MotionBuilder is and point you to the official download.

What is Autodesk MotionBuilder?

Autodesk Motion Builder is an animation program for 3D artists. It is a well-known and widely used program among professional 3D animators: it has been included in the toolboxes of animators working on such popular titles as Assassin’s Creed and the Avatar film, for instance.

The software has a real-time 3D engine as well as support for imported user-generated motion capture data to enhance the animation of its final products. Animation can be performed on the skeletal level. Its editing environment is interactive, non-linear, and unified. This means that users do not need to worry about destroying or modifying their source files during their workflows. It also includes features for ragdoll physics use in animation as well as inverse kinematics. The program is also capable of importing as well as exporting studio-quality files.

The program is also strongly interoperable with other developer products as well as extensible, being provided with a development kit that allows users to script using the Python programming language. C++ is also supported. It is compatible with many Autodesk programs like Maya and several other Entertainment Creation Suites series software due to its use of the FBX file format.
