What is Adobe Contribute?
The Adobe Contribute application is part of Adobe's Creative Suite line-up of programs, and is bundled with another Adobe Creative Suite program, the Adobe Dreamweaver, as it's mainly used to work well with the said program and other Adobe web development and publishing products. This was previously known as Macromedia Contribute until Adobe acquired the company.
The Adobe Contribute concerns itself with web publishing and management, and integrates authoring and publishing of content in a WYSIWYG (what you see is what you get) HTML editor. This allows users to perform more efficient web production collaboratively and at the same time reducing oversight and approval. This is because Contribute enables, true to its name, several people in a company, for example, to edit the content of web pages without the same skills used to create a web page or a website. It also has an in-browser editing plugin that works for Internet Explorer and Mozilla Firefox (recent versions only).
The Adobe Creative Suite is a set of multimedia editing and web development tools created by Adobe and based from Macromedia's Studio suite. When Adobe acquired Macromedia, they rebranded the Studio suite as the Creative Suite. The Adobe Creative Suite Master Collection includes Photoshop Extended, Illustrator, InDesign, Acrobat X Pro, Flash Professional, Flash Builder Premium Edition, Dreamweaver, Fireworks, Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, Adobe Audition, SpeedGrade, Prelude, Encore, Bridge, and Media Encoder. It also integrates with Adobe's Digital Publishing Suite. There are several editions of the Creative Suite, one of which is the Master Collection which contains all applications of the Creative Suite line.
