What is a TORCHDOWNLOAD file?

The .torchdownload file extension is used for a temporary file format, which was developed by Torch Media. These TORCHDOWNLOAD files are also known as partial download files that are generated by the Torch Web browser. This software is based on the Google Chromium project and serves as a Web browser for Microsoft Windows computers.When a user downloads content from the Internet with the Torch Web browser, this software creates a TORCHDOWNLOAD file in the directory where the user chose to save the content. Upon completion of the download process, the .torchdownload file extension of this temporary file is replaced with the original file extension of the content that has been successfully downloaded to the user's computer.For example, if a user downloads an MP3 file to the C: directory using the Torch Web browser, then this software will create a temporary .torchdownload file in this directory while downloading the MP3 file. As soon as the file has been successfully downloaded to the C: directory, the Torch Web browser will replace the .torchdownload extension of the file with the .mp3 file extension.A .torchdownload file does not contain human-readable data. This is why it's best to leave these TORCHDOWNLOAD files alone. This will ensure that the Torch Web browser can properly continue with the file download.
