What is Zipeg?
Zipeg is software developed by Leo Kuznetsov and distributed by Zipeg Labs International. The software serves as a compressed archive viewer and extractor, where the user is able to see the files contained within the archive before decompressing the archive.
This feature allows the user to retrieve files from the archives one at a time, or several files at a time, depending on the number of files they want to extract from the archive. What this means to the user is that the program is not set, by default, to automatically extract all the files from the archive. This gives them the option to choose only those files that they want to use/view/read.
The program allows the user to extract files from ZIP and RAR archives, as well as 7Z, TAR, TGZ, GZ, RPM, ISO, LHA and BZIP2. On top of these, users can also open the eComics archives in CBR and CBZ formats; and also password-protected archives. Files can be extracted by dragging them from the archive window, and dropping them onto the desktop.
