If you are looking for WordWeb, you have come to the right place. We explain what WordWeb is and point you to the official download.

What is WordWeb?

The WordWeb is a combined thesaurus and dictionary utility created for Microsoft Windows that gives the user free and convenient access to the two most commonly used word reference utilities, the dictionary and thesaurus, in just one click.  This application is created by WordWeb Software for Microsoft.

Since it is embedded in the Word program of the Microsoft Office suite for Windows, the WordWeb is automatically installed and is found on the main menu toolbar of the Office suite programs. This means that the user do not need an Internet connection to access the dictionary and thesaurus functions.

For more complex uses and reference links, the WordWeb is also automatically connected to online references like Wikipedia Encyclopedia, online Encyclopedia Britanica, Geography websites, Atlas references, Biographies and Bibliographies and other online compendiums.  With this, a user can perform instant reference searches without the user having to leave the Windows word processing screen.

The WordWeb application supports the English language and contains an extensive list of definitions with 150,000 root words, 120,000 synonym sets, and offers support for related words searchable in any program.  This application also supports word pronunciation function with built-in guides in two formats, the classic 65,000 text pronunciations and the new 5,000 audio-based pronunciations.
