WeatherBug Desktop

If you are looking for WeatherBug Desktop, you have come to the right place. We explain what WeatherBug Desktop is and point you to the official download.

What is WeatherBug Desktop?

The Weatherbug Desktop Application, developed by the AWS Convergence Tech company (now known as Earth Networks, Inc. since 2011) is a convenient computer program that tracks and reports local weather from your area. The way this works is that you can enter your local ZIP code on the application, and it will automatically give you updates on the weather conditions on your location. This entire application is powered by 8,530 weather stations plus a dense lightning sensor array for hurricanes. It has a forecast system from as immediate as an hour to up to 7 days, an animated radar map, satellite images, and even temperature and humidity. However, the functionality of the system is only for US ZIP codes only and therefore does not work outside America.

There have been massive issues of the WeatherBug software as a malware, and even though PC Magazine and Microsoft had already declassified WeatherBug as a malware, the former describing it as a legitimate and convenient piece of program, it is still flagged as a harmful application in most security suites. This is because of its propensity to present users with unsolicited ads and extremely difficult uninstallation. This can be avoided by purchasing a licensed version, WeatherBug Plus, that removes all these limitations and all the ads.
