If you are looking for VidPlaya, you have come to the right place. We explain what VidPlaya is and point you to the official download.

What is VidPlaya?

VidPlaya is an open-source media player that is available as a free download for users. The software was purportedly designed to negate the need for persistent and repetitive manual codec downloading, being capable of reading practically all in-use file formats for videos. Examples of formats the player can handle are ASF, FLV, MKV, Quicktime, MPEG, and WAV. It is capable of reading Blu Ray as well as DVD files and also plays Flash files without any issues. The software also includes video options like the ability to take screenshots as well as the ability to customize the media player extensively.

AirPlay users can also synchronize the program with their accounts in order to stream music to connected devices. The program can handle a variety of audio/music formats as well, including DivX and MP2.

Note that since the application is free of charge, the developer has opted to use an alternative means of income generation with its release, which is through the OpenCandy advertising service. This means that installing the program will prompt ads for other applications to appear. However, these only appear during the actual installation process.

Download VidPlaya from the developer does not provide software hosting. We send you directly to the developer's site, to make sure you download the latest, original version of the program.
