What is uVision3?

uVision3 is IDE software for microcontrollers created by Keil Software. It combines Source Code Editing, Project Management, Flash Programming and Program Debugging in one software package. It helps users get started using the Quick Start guide which gives important information on how to us the uVision3 software for the user’s projects and provides an overview for its more commonly used features which include Device Setup and Tool Configuration and Peripheral Simulation to name a few.

The uVision3 software sees to it that the user has ease in Project Management. This feature has the Project menu which gives access to files and dialogues to be managed. This software also displays only the options that are relevant to the device selected and does not permit the selection of directives that are seen incompatible. File Groups also allow the user to put linked files together, although they may also be used to create functional block to separate files.

There are also Book Tabs in the Project Workspace list on extensive manuals found on-line for tools and the selected microcontroller. The user is allowed to add own books through the Manage Components dialogue.
