What is UMPlayer?
UMPlayer or Universal Media Player is the player that can play any media with its built-in codecs and advanced functions. It recognizes any media format, and can play DVDs, VCDs, SVCDs, Audio CDs, YouTube, Radio/TV cards, SHOUTcast streams and even damaged or incomplete media files. It is an open source and free software.
UMPlayer is created under Qt platform and can operate on Apple Mac OS X, Linux/GNU and Windows operating systems. It covers more than 270 built-in video and audio codecs to be able to handle all media files including ASF, DIVX, AAC, H.263, MP4, MP3, OGG, QT, MPEG, AVI, FLV, WAV, WMV, WMA, XVID, VOB, Matroska, RealMedia, Vorbis and all others.
It features a skinnable user interface, built-in search for subtitles, improved filter rendering, YouTube
search, recorder and player, subtitles/audio sync, configurable subtitles, audio delay adjustment, SHOUTcast search, remember media position, remember media settings and adjustment for subtitle delays. Input media include VCD, video car, RTP/UDP Unicast, RTP/UDP Multicast, RTP/TCP Unicast, SVCD, radio card, MMS, FTP/HTTP, folders, files and DVDs.
Subtitles supported are AQTitle, JACOsub, DVD, CC [closed caption], OGM, MPsub, MicroDVD, SSA, RT, Sami, PJS [Phoenix Japanimation Society], SubViewer, SubRip, Text files, VPlayer and VOBsub. Video filters provide remove/add noise, deblock, cropping, dering, deinterlace, equalizer, magnification, image adjust, mirror/rotate, postprocessing and software scaling. Audio filters cover volume normalization, extrastereo, karaoke [voice removal] and equalizer. Other features are audio equalizer, advance caching, command line interface, CPU optimization, customizable hotkeys, audio track switching, DVD menus, MPC interface, IPv6, video thumbnail marker, screenshot and video equalizer.
