The Weather Channel Desktop

If you are looking for The Weather Channel Desktop, you have come to the right place. We explain what The Weather Channel Desktop is and point you to the official download.

What is The Weather Channel Desktop?

The Weather Channel Desktop Application is similar desktop application to Weatherbug, and is a convenient computer program that tracks and reports local weather from your area. The way this works is that you can enter your local ZIP code on the application, and it will automatically give you updates on the weather conditions on your location. Currently the Weather Channel Desktop Application only works for Windows (from Windows XP and up) and only for US locations.

However, it does give an in-depth coverage of the weather patterns in your area – and in the country, in general – for several days in advance (an extended forecast), plus videos and other weather forecast news from around the country or in your location. This video player acts as an actual media player in itself that streams weather news from select news outlets and services.

Due to the similarities, the Weather Channel Desktop Application is often confused with the Weatherbug Desktop App, which is a different program and developed by another company; however, they have the same purpose and essence, which is to deliver cutting-edge weather news right to your desktop. There are instances, however, that Weatherbug becomes compromised with security concerns, which is typically the reason that the Weather Channel application is more trusted in this area.
