Swiki

What is Swiki?

Swiki is a search tool developed by AdMedia Inc. The application serves as a plug-in to the user’s Web browser which, every time the user queries a search through their default search engine, will display search results generated from over 20 websites, on top of the general results yielded by the user’s search engine.

Apart from providing additional search results, the developers of the plug-in also provide users with the opportunity to donate to a charitable institution. Every time the user rates a website included in the search results, the user is given an equivalent point. Once the user has accumulated at least one thousand points, they can convert this to cash and authorize AdMedia to donate the cash to a charity of the user’s choice, on their behalf.

The company is affiliated with several charitable institutions including the following: American Cancer Society, ChildFund International, USO, Born Free USA, Carbonfund.org, Finnegans Community Fund, Children’s Cancer & Blood Foundation, American Red Cross, Wildlife Conservation Society, and CancerCare.

Swiki is compatible with Safari, Google Chrome, Internet Explorer and Mozilla Firefox.
