SonicStage for LISMO

If you are looking for SonicStage for LISMO, you have come to the right place. We explain what SonicStage for LISMO is and point you to the official download.

What is SonicStage for LISMO?

SonicStage is a proprietary software platform from Sony whose capabilities and roles are similar to Apple’s iTunes and Microsoft’s Windows Media Player Library in that it is used to manage portable audio (or audio-capable devices) when they are plugged into a Windows computer. Like these two, SonicStage uses a two-part approach, a music player and a library, and recognizes MP3 and ATRAC files. SonicStage was first used for VAIO notebooks and PCs, superseding the now-defunct OpenMG Jukebox; SonicStage is in itself rendered into obsolescence by the newer and more popular service which was field-tested in Australia and New Zealand.

SonicStage for LISMO is a special version of SonicStage CP (the 4th iteration of the service), but with far fewer features, although it is part of the LISMO Port software suite. SonicStage for LISMO was launched in 2008 and supports a new ATRAC format by LISMO, the online music store operated by Japanese mobile phone operator KDDI (au). Other versions of SonicStage used the Sony Connect platform to purchase music online, but Sony Connect was closed in late 2008.
