What is Songbird?
Songbird is a music player developed by POTI, Inc. (Pioneers of the Inevitable). This is a cross-platform player that is able to run on machines installed with Windows or Mac OS X. It features several tools that allow for organizing the user’s music library, and creating playlists according to their preference. The software also allows the user to sync their playlists with their mobile phones or portable media player, so these can be played on the devices as well.
The user is also provided with the option to follow their favorite artists so they can get the latest updates; plus they also have the option to connect with other fans, and share photos and videos.
Songbird comes with skins, called feathers, which enable the user to customize the appearance of their player. The player supports popular music formats such as MP3, AAC, WMA, FLAC, and Ogg Vorbis. In addition to playing files, Songbird also allows the user to download music files in the MP3 format.
The player’s functions can be further expanded through add-ons, which are also available at the Songbird website.
