What is Seagate Manager?

The Seagate Manager is a software developed by Seagate Technology, one of the leading hard disk drive manufacturers in the world. It is designed as a powerful driver enhancer in the file system protection restore and recovery, and is included in the Seagate FreeAgent drive.

The Seagate Manager is compatible with all other Seagate drives such as the Maxtor One Touch. It is also compatible with Windows Vista and Windows XP.

The Seagate Manager essentially offers four major driver enhancer features. These include backup and restore for data protection, synchronization feature between two computers and up to several computer units, an enhanced security covering encryption of multiple folders and files extending to sync and backup encryption, and user-preferrred settings for greater control on drive lights, drive power and others.

Once installeed, the Seagate Manager icon will appear in the computer taskbar as a desktop icon for easier and faster access to the drive functions. An enhanced user utility is the FreeAgent Drive Light which produces flashes of light that translates to various states of the drive such as active, idle, hibernate, standby, unmounted or error status.

Installation, use, management and uninstallation of the Seagate Manager comes in various formats, from manual file instructions to instructuonal videos created by Seagate Technology as well as seagate Manager user community.
