Musepack is an audio compression format putting an emphasis on quality. Musepack is not lossless, but it is designed for transparency. Musepack is based on MPEG-1/Layer 2 and MP2 algorithms. It is currently at a stage where the code that it consists of is being optimized and patentless.
DirectShow works through a whole series of filters. A filter is a program that takes a file and breaks it down to its basic components. Each sub component is then read by another filter, but the content will eventually be passed onto a decoder. This decoder will decode the data, and pass it to a renderer. The renderer will then tell the user’s computer how to send sound out of its speakers, and display images on the screen. However, crashes may often occur with this software due to the different filters and codecs that are interacting together in order to decode a file.
File.org aims to be the go-to resource for file type- and related software information. We spend countless hours researching various file formats and software that can open, convert, create or otherwise work with those files.
If you have additional information about which types of files RadLight MPC DirectShow Filter can process, please do get in touch - we would love hearing from you.
