The Quartus II Web Edition FPGA design software includes everything that the user needs to design for the following Altera FPGA and CPLD families – Cyclone, Cyclone II, Cyclone III, Cyclone IV, and Arria GX FPGAs. It also contains designs for all MAX CPLDs, Arria II GX FPGAs, and Stratix III FPGAs. Quartus II is Altera’s software collection to design and interact with all of their FPGAs and CPLDs products. The procedure focuses on Arch Linux 64-bit systems. But 32-bit installations should also work fine.
The Quartus II Web Edition v13.0 is supported for the RHEL 5 and RHEL 6, but it is easy to install on Arch Linux since it is one of those huge collections of proprietary software that does not interact with the distribution. Although the main Quartus II software is 64-bit, a lot of Altera tools that get shipped with Quartus II are also 32-bit programs. These programs include the Nios II EDS, as well as the Qsys.
