What is Privack?
Privack is a Web browser designed with an emphasis on private browsing. It was designed by a company specializing in privacy protection programs. The software prevents websites from tracking the user and has protocols that automatically delete a user’s history from the browser in order to negate the possibility of user browsing patterns being detected by third-parties or websites. This means that cookies and tags are also removed by the software. These types of data (cookies, search history, etc.) are all voided once the user closes the program, meaning that the browser starts afresh each time it is opened.
The browser was created with a mature target market in mind. As such, part of the developers’ documentation for the software states that users of its software and website (for which some registration info is required for unrestricted usage) are not expected to be minors.
The program is available as freeware and can be installed on Windows computers. It is based on Google’s Chromium browser and as such has a largely similar interface. The difference between the two, of course, is the deletion of locally-stored browsing data in the Privack browser.
