What is Photoshp?

The basic concept of the software Photoshop is that it is a photo-editing program. Photoshop is a suite of software programs, developed with the general purpose of providing users with several digital tools for manipulating their photos.

Currently, there are five programs included in the software suite: Adobe Photoshop CS6 Extended, Adobe Photoshop CS6, Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 4, Adobe Photoshop Elements 11, and Adobe Photoshop Elements 11 bundled with Adobe Premiere Elements 11.

Basically, Photoshop features a set of tools that allow the user to turn 2D images into 3D objects through the application of shadows, reflections and lighting effects. Layering and masking tools on the other hand, allow users to create realistic-looking images, by applying special effects to render life-like pictures.

Pens, brushes, coloring and painting tools meanwhile, allow the user to create their own drawings; and then render these in outputs that make them appear as if they were actual photos taken with a digital camera or other imaging device. In addition to working with 2D images, Photoshop also allows the user to enhance the quality of images in films or video clips.

The Photoshop software suite is able to run on Windows and Mac OS machines.
