openCanvas is a raster graphics editor with primary focus on graphics and paint/drawing, available in two languages (Japanese and English), developed by PGN Corp. First released in 2000 as a free application, it has become shareware (full commercial product with limited time trial) when the second version of the software was released; later, an openCanvas “Plus” edition, with more functions and additional performance enhancements were released, which includes 4.5e Plus. The latter does not run on new versions of Windows (only with third-party development for Vista); however newer versions do.
Similar to Adobe Photoshop and Corel Painter, openCanvas has all the basic and common functions of raster graphics editors, with a feature called “Events” that shows users a step-by-step procedure on how a drawing was made. It has several functions like tones, layers, and filters, which can be used to create desired effects on an image, different brushes and pens with their own unique flavor, plus collapsible and docked toolbars so artists can work on their drawings on a space they think is appropriate or convenient. openCanvas only works with a Wacom tablet peripheral.
File.org aims to be the go-to resource for file type- and related software information. We spend countless hours researching various file formats and software that can open, convert, create or otherwise work with those files.
If you have additional information about which types of files openCanvas4.5e Plus can process, please do get in touch - we would love hearing from you.
