What is Microsoft Office Access?
Microsoft Office Access is a utility used for managing database systems that is highly used with Graphical User Interface, development tools, and is equipped with the Microsoft Jet Database Engine. It is among the applications included in the Microsoft Office Suite. This utility as well as the other applications come in different versions and can be obtained separately or as a complete suite.
Microsoft Office Access lets you store data in a particular format as prescribed by the technology Access Jet Database Engine. Data can be linked or imported from other databases or existing applications being used. This application is also widely used by data architects in developing their own software as it is also supported by Visual Basics. It is also developed using scripting languages such as Data Access Objects and can be used with ActiveX controls. Microsoft access is also used in other applications such as GIS.
Microsoft Office Access is also the enhanced versions of Microsoft initial projects developed in the ‘80s. It was originally referred to as a solution dubbed as Omega and was developed as the first database product of the company for Windows. Omega turned to Project Cirrus after much modification. In 1992,the name Access was introduced and adapted officially.
